What is Pancake Slit Coil?
A traditional Pancake Wound Coil or Ribbon Wound Coil consists of a single steel strip that is wound on top of itself, similar to a roll of Scotch Tape. The slitting process continues until the maximum OD tolerance is reached. This is the most widely used form of Slit Coil. Every order we process requires a unique, custom set-up and provides a great deal of flexibility in the dimensions of the finished coil. Arbor Metals TM provides Pancake Coils with 16" or 20" ID's and up to 62" OD's. This allows us to offer OD and Maximum Coil Weight customization to match your equipment capacity. We go beyond the normal Stamping applications and provide slit coils into the Automotive, Building Products, Conveyor, Defense, Energy, Industrial Banding and Filtration, Medical, Petrochemical, High Pressure Spiral Wound Gasket industry, and many more.
