What is Slit Coil?
Coil slitting is an operation that consists of pulling a master coil or pre-cut smaller coils through two or more sets of circular knives or cutters mounted on two arbors (parallel to each other) that are tied to an electrical motor. These knives revolve at a speed that allows them to score and cut the metal as it passes between them. The process allows for very tight width tolerances but does not remove camber from the metal.
