Steel Coil Edging Services
What is Coil Edging?
Edge Conditioning is forming the edges of strip to a desired shape beyond the standard slit edge, which is typically a #3 edge, and has a small amount of burr. This is achieved by either machining, rolling or skiving the material, based on the edge required. Conditioned edges are extremely useful in industries where the exposed edges of the strip come in external contact with or are handled by processes that require a smooth surface. One major consumer of this material is the Food Conveyor Belt Industry. Arbor/Metals Inc. can provide both pancake and oscillate wound coils with conditioned edges. Our capabilities range in thicknesses from .046" to .105", and widths from .375" to 2" wide. See the below list of available edge conditions:
- #1 Fully Round Skived Edge
- #3 Standard Slit Edge
- #4 Round Edge
- #5 Rolled Edge
- Additional custom edges available upon inquiry.
Typical applications of this material include Conveyor Belts/Guides, Gasket, and Hand Tools.
