What is Kammbar?
Used in the Gasket Industry, Kammbar (Kammbarprofile) is a machined, grooved/serrated top surface bar that offers the compression characteristics of a sheet gasket for low sealing stress, along with the bolt tightness of a spiral wound gasket. In addition, Kammbar has the handling ease of a solid metal gasket along with its resistance to buckling. Gaskets that use Kammbar fight against flange rotation, bolt stress relaxation and creep; even under extreme pressure and temperature fluctuations. Arbor Metals TM stocks oscillate wound coils in both 304/L and 216/L. Available widths are .375", .4375", and .500" in .125" Thickness.
